August 5, 2017. Smithfield, Rhode Island. Triathletes love a challenging course, and that’s what the Rhode Island Sprint triathlon delivers to athletes of all skill levels! The swim portion of this event is in a beautiful lake with a strong police and fire presence in the water as well as canoes and lifeguards. Once you make your way out of the water, the transition area is less than 50 feet away. You leave the lake area and continue on Farnum Pike for about 5 miles, then turn and make your way back. The final leg is a 3-mile run through the back roads and rolling hills of Smithfied. Try this friendly race this season!
